PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles Roughrider baseball team continues to be hot this season, knocking off tough North Kitsap 4-1 yesterday.

Colton Romero gave up just one earned run going seven innings for the Riders.

Rylan Politika and Jordan Shumway led at the plate. Politka had a triple, two RBI, and scored a run.  Shumway also scored a run and went 2 for 2 at the plate.

PA is now 7-1. They take on North K again tomorrow.

Sequim beat Kingston 9-5.

The Roughrider Fast pitch team moved to 3-0 in league and 7-1 on the year as they beat Olympic yesterday 4-0. Olympic has been a serious pain to the Roughriders the last couple of years.

Seven Roughriders had base hits starting with Ava Anne Sheahan who went 3 for 3 with a RBI. Natalie Robinson had a double a single and 2 RBIs. Kennedy Rognlien had 2 singles. Abby Kimball had a double a single and a RBI. Heidi Leitz had a single and an RBI. Mikkiah Steven’s had a single.

Heidi Leitz pitched 7 shutout innings with 8 strike outs for the win.

The Roughriders host Bainbridge Thursday.

In soccer action, the Roughriders lost to North Kitsap 9-0 and Sequim lost to Bainbridge 3-2.

The Peninsula Pirates women’s soccer team have signed 2 more recruits.  Goalie Alex Naill from Graham, Washington  and Lauren Lases from Bergen, Netherlands.
