PORT ANGELES – New technology led to the recovery of stolen vehicles in Port Angeles.
Yesterday morning, a Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputy was on patrol, in the city of Port Angeles. The deputy’s patrol vehicle is equipped with an automatic license plate reader. As the Deputy was driving down the 900 block of West 14th Street, the license plate reader alerted him to a possible stolen vehicle parked on the street.
The deputy found the vehicle was a 2017 Honda HR-V reported stolen to the Port Angeles Police last month.
An ensuing investigation led law enforcement to find a stolen motorcycle in the alley to the north of the stolen Honda. It was a 2004 Harley Davidson reported stolen in 2022 out of Kitsap County.
Interviews with neighbors developed people of interest in the case. The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate.
