SEQUIM – Dropping a bag of suspected fentanyl at 7 Cedars Casino led to the arrest of a man on drug charges.

Last Friday, Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the casino for a report that a man dropped a bag of 27 suspected fentanyl pills. The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Bainbridge Island resident, Kyle K. Bateman. Bateman left the casino before deputies got there.

Sequim police officers later contacted him at the Sequim Safeway, where he was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC). Deputies searched Bateman incident to arrest and located over 100 suspected fentanyl pills. They say he was also carrying suspected methamphetamine.

A search of his car found about 370 grams of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, crack cocaine, and black tar heroin, along with small plastic bags and a digital scale.

Bateman was transported and booked into Clallam County Jail for his DOC warrant and possession with intent to deliver controlled substances.
