SEQUIM – The Sequim Noon Rotary Club announced that after 93 years, they’ll be closing shop for good on July 1. Many of the members plan to join the Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club or other local clubs to continue serving the community.

The reason given for disbanding the club is the large number of so-called snowbird members who leave town for several months each year, leaving the day-to-day operations of the club to fall on the shoulders of a very few members.

That said, between now and July 1, there is still work to do. The Noon Rotarians will once again be participating in Graduating Senior Scholarships this June and plans to distribute several to seniors pursuing Technical Education.

They will also work together with the Sunrise Club, as they have for 38 years, to organize and present the Sequim irrigation Festival Parade this coming May.
