PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula Pirates men’s basketball team will travel to Shoreline Saturday for a 2 pm tip off with the winner getting the last 4th place ticket to the NWAC tournament beginning Wednesday in Pasco. That game will tip off at 2 pm against Portland, the #1 seed from the South.
The Pirate women will play next Friday with a Noon tip off against Centralia the #4 seed from the West. A Pirate win will put the Pirates in an Elite 8 game the following Saturday at 2 pm against the winner of the Umpqua – Yakima game.

The Peninsula Pirates men’s soccer team will play PAC 12 National power the Washington Huskies March 3rd at the Husky Soccer Stadium with the kickoff at 7:30.

In high school state tournament basketball action, the Neah Bay boys knocked off Moses Lake Christian 62-54 they will play in a Semifinal tonight at 5:30 against Wellpinit. The Neah Bay girls beat Wilbur Creston 59-47. The Red Devils play in a Semifinal tonight at 7:15 against Cross Pointe of Silverdale.
In the boys 2A tournament in Yakima, the teams from Districts 2 and 3 are making a serious statement. Bremerton upset Renton last night so they will play Lynden tonight in a Semifinal game at 7:15. North Kitsap knocked off Anacortes so the Vikings will play Grandview tonight in the other Semifinal at 9:00.
Renton will play Sammamish at 12:15 in a consolation game. 3 of the 6 trophies will go to District 2 and 3 teams.
In another district note, the Eatonville Cruisers will be dropping to Class 2A and will join the district with Bainbridge.
