SHORELINE — On a night when the Peninsula Pirates men’s basketball team needed to have a good shooting night, they were as cold as a winter storm on Hurricane Ridge. The Pirates lost to Shoreline 61 -58 and find themselves in at 7-7 in 4th place tie with Shoreline for the 4th and final NWAC playoff spot.

The Pirates shot a miserable 31% from the field and 19% from the 3-point stripe.

Javon Ervin led the way with 22 points. Aiden Olmstead hit for 15 points.

A playoff might be played to determine the 4th place team to the NWAC Tournament.

The Pirate women are absolutely perfect as Northern Conference champions. They knocked off a very good Shoreline team 52 – 36. Jenilee Donovan led the Pirates with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Ciera Agasiva scored 8 points. Lexie Mackey, Jelissa Julmist, Shania Moanunu, Sonny Pedobone and Allie Greene all hit for 6 points. The Pirates end the regular season 14-0 21-2 and have won 17 games in a row.

Talia Marini, a sophomore out of Reno, has been the starting goalie for the Pirates’ soccer team and a solid back up guard for the Pirates’ basketball team
