PORT ANGELES — In boys high school basketball district tournament play, the Port Angeles Roughriders came from behind to beat Steilacoom 63-49. Kason Albaugh and Isaiah Shamp both hit for 17 points and Parker Nickerson hit for 15 points.
The Roughriders now face #8 seed Enumclaw Saturday at Foster High School with the tip off at 4:00. The Roughriders beat Enumclaw on December 20th 57-51 in Port Angeles. The winner advances to the “Sweet 16” regional, the loser starts baseball season. The game will be broadcast here on KONP Newsradio.

The Sequim Wolves had their season end last night, losing to Franklin Pierce 67-48. Freshman Jericho Julmist led the way with 11 points. Keenan Green hit for 10 points, Solomon Sheppard scored 7 points and Charlie Grider hit for 6 points. It was the last games as Wolves for seniors Keenan Green, Lars Wiker and Garrett Little.

It’s a big night for the Roughriders girls (16-6) as they take on #3 seed Sammamish (15-6) at Silas High School. The game will be broadcast on KONP Newsradio with the Les Schwab Tires pre-game show starting at 5:45. The tipoff is at 6:00. The Roughriders are averaging 50 points per game and giving up 41. Sammamish playing in a much weaker King Co League average 44 points per game and give up 36 a game.
The winner will play for the district championship Saturday at Tacoma CC with a 12:30 tip off. That game will be broadcast on KONP Newsradio.

The Sequim Wolves girls will be favorites at home tonight against North Mason. If the Wolves win, they will play Saturday at Foster High School against the winner of the #8 seed North Kitsap – #9 seed Clover Park game for a trip to the Sweet 16 regionals. The tip off will be at 6:00. If the Wolves lose either game its fast pitch season. The Wolves game at Foster will be broadcast on KONP Newsradio.
