PORT ANGELES – The city of Port Angeles is still deciding what to do about the Ediz Hook Boat Launch,

City officials say they’ve made no final decision about the future of the floating docks there.

Last October, the easternmost string of floats was temporarily taken out of service to prepare for the winter season. More recently, the westernmost string of floats was severely damaged during January’s winter storms.

City staff say the float manufacturer no longer provides the materials needed to repair the existing float dock system. That’s left them looking for other options to deal with the damage.

The City has incorporated the Ediz Hook Boat Launch Improvement Project into the 2024-2029 Capital Facilities Plan. This project, currently unfunded, includes the installation of a brand-new docking system and seawall at Ediz Hook.
