PORT ANGELES – The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office has a new second-in command, but it is a familiar face to many in and outside of the department.
Sheriff Brian King has appointed of Lorraine Shore as Clallam County’s next Undersheriff and Director of Emergency Management.
Shore started her career in law enforcement in 1992 with the Anchorage Police Department where she worked in nearly all parts of the department in patrol and as a detective.
In 2008, she and her husband Howard retired from the Anchorage Police Department and moved to Sequim. Clallam County Sheriff Bill Benedict hired her as the office’s Community Policing Coordinator. She moved into the role of administrative manager and has led the department’s accreditation process.
Shore has extensive experience with Emergency Management and was a Type 3 Incident Management Team member and Planning Section Chief with the Municipality of Anchorage Emergency Management Division.
She takes over for longtime Undersheriff Ron Cameron who retired late last year.
