PORT ANGELES – Clallam County Deputies arrested a Port Angeles-area woman Saturday on suspicion of drug possession and other charges.
The search for 28-year-old Odessia Cargo began in November when an employee of the Safeway east of Port Angeles called Pencom to report a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot with license plates that didn’t match, occupied by 2 women and a man.
When a deputy arrived, they saw that 2 of the car’s occupants were walking away. When the deputy tried to speak with the only person in the car, later identified as Cargo, she refused to talk and instead walked away. At the time, there was no reason to detain her.
Soon after, the deputy noticed white crystal consistent with meth, a scale and other paraphernalia in plain view inside the car. The deputy got a search warrant for the car and found over 32g of suspected meth, drug paraphernalia, scales, burglary tools and mail and ID’s used to confirm the suspects’ identities.
Two of the three suspects were apprehended that evening for unrelated charges. Cargo was still outstanding until Saturday, when she was arrested and booked for possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of burglary tools, and criminal trespass, along with three outstanding Lower Elwha Tribal Court warrants.
