PORT ANGELES — The Roughrider bowling team improved their record to 7-2, beating North Mason 6-1. Abby Robinson had highs of 163 and 175 and has a 164 average on the season. Zoey Van Gordon and Xoey Penn both rolled 152’s.
Sophie Constant threw an average of 99 and Page Pangaro bowled a 133 average.
In JV action, Caidence Pozcrzycki bowled a127 average and Jule Getzin had a 122 average.
The Roughriders travel to Bremerton on Tuesday.

In girls basketball action last night, the Roughriders opened Olympic League play with an easy 61-33 blowout win over Bremerton. The Knights played the Roughriders tough for one quarter and trailed by just 5 points at 14-9. In the 2nd quarter the Roughriders outscored the Knights 18-9 for a 32-18 halftime lead.
All 11 players on the Roughrider roster scored. Izzy Felton and Paige Mason led the way with 11 points each. Teanna Clark hit for 9 points, Lindsay Smith scored 7 points, Lexie Smith and Kennedy Rongnlien each hit for 6 points. Tatum Moses had 5 points. Kenzie Moses scored 3 points, Becca Manson and Morgan Politika each had 2 points.
The Roughriders, now 2-1, will host 3A 4-0 Central Kitsap tomorrow evening. The game will be broadcast live on KONP Newsradio with the pre-game show at 4:15 pm. Oly Archibald and Bill Bates will have the play by play with the tip off at 4:30 pm.

The Roughrider boys have their Olympic League opener tonight, and it’s a tough one on the road at Bremerton. The Knights are 2-0 and blew out Foss 74-41. The Knights are led by 2 talented Freshman in Jalen Davis and Jacqaun McWhorter. Davis hit for 23 points and pulled down 8 rebounds in the blow out over Foss. McWhorter had 9 points. Senior guards Dyon Sellers and Trenton Bulmer had big performances over the Roughriders on the football field and are two very athletic floor leaders.
For the Roughriders to get a win, they will need major point production from Isaiah Shamp who scored 29 points against Sammamish as well as Parker Nickerson and point guard Gus Halberg. All eyes will be on the guard matchups of Halberg and Kason Albaugh against the quick Knight guards of Bulmer and Sellers.
Tonight’s game will be carried live on KONP with the pre-game show starting at 6:45 pm. Oly Archibald and Joe Gladfelter will have the live play by play, tipoff is set for 7 pm.

The Pirate women will travel to Bellevue for a Noon tip off against Treasure Valley on Sunday.
