WHATCOM COUNTY – A woman from Sequim has died in a car crash in Whatcom County.

21-year-old Gemma Davis was killed in the single-vehicle accident Monday night.

Investigators say Davis was heading east on Mount Baker Highway near Cornell Creek Road around 11:30 p.m. The State Patrol says she crossed into the shoulder and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll.

Davis was not wearing a seat belt. She was ejected from the vehicle during the roll.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
