CLALLAM COUNTY – It’s Election Day, and we’re told by the Auditor’s Office that traffic has been busy at the ballot drop boxes all day. They’ve picked up ballots from the East End and the Courthouse multiple times today to keep up with the incoming ballots.

Voters have until 8:00 p.m. to drop their ballot into an Official Ballot Drop Box. Those boxes will close at 8:00 p.m. sharp, so don’t wait until the last minute to drive to one because there will be a line and you’ll be late.

If using the postal service to return your ballot, please be sure to check their cutoff times for postmarks as your ballot must have a post mark of November 7 or earlier.

The Office of the Secretary of State encourages voters to wait patiently while counties tally election results, because voting systems are on an air-gapped network and are not connected to the internet.

Also, remember that counties do not begin tabulating ballots until after the voting period closes at 8 p.m.
