On October 26, 2023 Deputies responded to a residence on North St., Sequim (Diamond Point) to conduct a welfare check. Deputies located a deceased female in the yard who has been identified as 65-year-old Nevada resident, Susan M. Ferrel. The investigation revealed that Susan M. Ferrel had traveled to Sequim after her father died to attend to her father’s estate. Detectives learned
Susan’s father had a live in caregiver, 44-year-old Aline Jones who continued to live at the Diamond Point residence following his passing.
On October 28th, 2023, Aline Jones contacted Clallam County Sheriff’s Detectives with details relating to the death of Susan M. Ferrel.
Following an interview with Clallam County Sheriff‘s Detectives, Aline Jones was arrested and booked into Clallam County Jail for Murder in the 2nd Degree.
Clallam County Sheriff’s Detectives have no reason to believe there are any other suspects at this time.
