SEQUIM – Travelers who use US 101 in Sequim will want to add extra time getting through the area next week.
From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, and Tuesday, Oct. 31, Washington State Department of Transportation crews will close westbound 101 at milepost 263 approaching River Road for pavement repairs.
During the work, westbound 101 travelers will detour via the River Road exit and on-ramp. Eastbound travelers will use a single shifted lane through the work zone.
Travelers in both directions can expect congestion and slowdowns approaching River Road while work is underway.
DOT officials said the work is planned during daylight hours because warmer temperatures will assist with repairs.
The work is weather dependent and could be rescheduled, but the forecast calls for sunny and dry conditions.
