Area soccer fans have had their share of excitement, and last night’s 2 high school games did not disappoint. The Roughriders had the 7th ranked North Kitsap Vikings on upset alert as the Roughriders led 2-1, thanks to the goals from Teanna Clark and Becca Manson, with 23 minutes left on the clock. But the Vikings came back to score the final 2 goals for the 3-2 win.
In Sequim the Wolves took on a very tough Class 3A Bainbridge team and it was the old veteran Taryn Johnson scoring the winning goal in the 2nd Over time.
Johnson opened up the scoring in the 20th minute mark with an assist from Jenny Gomez.
Wolves Junior Goalie Kalli Grove again provided ESPN highlights with some of her saves that gave the Wolves a chance for the win.
In the 2nd OT at the 89th minute Johnson with an assist from Olive Bridge put the game away with her 2nd goal. The Wolves are 4-1 on the season.
In Volleyball action North Kitsap beat Port Angeles 3-1 and Bainbridge swept Sequim 3-0.
There is tennis action today with Sequim going to Bremerton with the first serve at 4 pm.
There is a great Junior high football game today as Steven’s travels to Sequim for a 4 PM kickoff.
There is NWAC soccer action Peninsula will host Skagit Valley, The women kickoff at 5 pm, the men will kickoff at 7:15 pm.
