PORT ANGELES – A Forks man was arrested for endangering a child with drugs.

35-year-old Johnny P. Robinson was booked into the Clallam County Jail yesterday.

The case began on August 9, when OPNET Detectives assisted the Department of Corrections (DOC) in the arrest of a subject with an active DOC warrant at his residence in the 300 block of S. Barr Road.  Officers say no one answered the door, but through a window they could see an 18-month-old child inside with no adult supervision. When officers got inside, they saw a white cloud of smoke in the bedroom from which the adults had vacated. The smell of the smoke was not consistent with tobacco or marijuana use.

Officers learned the young child was Robinson’s. Robinson was found hiding under a pile of laundry and arrested.

Officers located suspected methamphetamine in Robinson’s possession and paraphernalia where he had been hiding. DOC officers observed hypodermic needles in the bathroom and on the floor in the hallway from the room in which the child had been unattended. Suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, suspected heroin, hypodermic needles, and other drug paraphernalia were in other parts of the house.

OPNET detectives took the child into protective custody.
