Port Angeles woman dies after allegedly jumping out of moving vehicle

PORT ANGELES – A 33-year-old woman died early Sunday morning after allegedly jumping out of a moving vehicle on Lower Elwha Road.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office reports that it was about 4:15 am when deputies were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive female in the roadway in the 1000 block of Lower Elwha Road in Port Angeles. The reporting party called 911 asking for help for his wife. Deputies arrived and initiated CPR on the woman without success in reviving her.

The woman was identified as 33-year-old Port Angeles resident, Stacie L. Avila. The preliminary investigation suggests Avila jumped from a moving vehicle resulting in her death. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Clallam County Coroner’s Office pending an autopsy.

This investigation is currently ongoing and active.
