SEQUIM BAY, Wash. – We have an update on a fire that completely destroyed a house Wednesday morning at about 6:30.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office now reports that the body of a male was found in the rubble of the home.

The fire was reported off E. Sequim Bay Road in the 300 block of Blue Grouse Run in a single-story residence.

As firefighters sifted through the smoking rubble Wednesday morning, Clallam 3 Fire Chief Dan Orr gave us this this report.

“The fire has been extinguished. I’ve got investigators out there. The sheriff’s department is also out there. There’s a strong possibility that we probably lost somebody in that fire this morning, but that’s still being worked on and it hasn’t been confirmed yet. So investigators are out there. They’re working through that and we’ll probably know more here by, hopefully, this afternoon sometime.”

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to assist with the investigation, and were able to determine the fire was accidental and there is no suspicion of foul play.
