PORT ANGELES — The Roughrider golf teams continued their outstanding play at the Olympic League tournament. For the girls, Piper Williams won the league championship shooting a 93. Also qualifying for state was Claire Osterberg, finishing 2nd and shooting a 99; Lauryn Chapman finished 4th, and shot a 104. Mia Neff shot a 113 and has another chance to qualify for State at district.
For the boys Phoenix Flores is the league champion and qualified for state along with Edun Bailey. Austin Worthington, Cale Wentz and Nate Anderson have a chance to qualify at district.

In boys baseball action it’s district time, and the 14th-ranked Roughriders (13-5-1) travels to 8th-ranked White River (14-4). The Hornets finished 2nd in the South Puget Sound league.
The winner will qualify for state and play Saturday at Central Kitsap High school in a semifinal game.
The Roughriders have had great seasons by senior pitchers Kole Acker and Elijah Flodstrom. Both Roughriders are getting it done at the plate as well. Acker leads the team with a .381 batting average. Flodstrom is hitting .377 and is second on the team with 23 hits. Sophomore shortstop Alex Angevine is having a big season hitting .375, leading the team in hits with 24 and doubles with 6. Junior 1st baseman Ezra Townsend and junior 3rd Baseman Colton Romero are leading the team with 15 RBIs each.
Today’s game will be broadcast on Newsradio KONP and on the stream at myclallamcounty.com. The Firehouse Grill Burgers and Fries Dugout pre-game show starts at 3:45 pm. The first pitch is at 4 pm.

The Sequim Wolves 11-9 will host Franklin Pierce 9-11 at 4 pm. If the Wolves win they will play tomorrow at the loser of the Port Angeles – White River game.

It’s a big night in girls fast pitch action. Last night, number one-ranked North Kitsap all but clinched the Olympic league championship with an impressive 9-2 beat down of Olympic at Silverdale. Tonight Sequim 9-3 and in 2nd place travels to Olympic who now has an 8-4 record and in 4th place.
The 9th-ranked 8-3 Roughriders are in 3rd place and host a Kingston team that blew out Olympic and gave Sequim a tough game last week losing 5-2.
