SHINE – Here’s some good news for the 18,000 daily travelers to and from the Olympic Peninsula who use the Hood Canal Bridge. The state Dept. of Transportation announced Monday that repairs to the bridge will no longer require closing the bridge for four straight weekends during peak summer travel season.
Instead, the repair work to the bridge and subsequent closures will occur at night in May, June and September. The exact dates and times are listed at wsdot.wa.gov.
The work requires calm weather, so dates are subject to change.
