GIG HARBOR — The Port Angeles Roughrider fast pitch team won its 3rd straight game beating class 3A Gig Harbor 14-13. The story of the game was Roughrider outfielder Lily Halberg running into the outfield fence yet making a ESPN-highlight near catch that almost took away a home run. The game was held up for 20 minutes as the medical team wiped up the blood from Hallberg’s face. Lily is fine and there are pictures of Lily with a big smile on her face showing off her shiner with a small cut above her eye. Roughrider pitcher Cheyenne Zimmer got the win with 7 strike outs. Freshman Kennedy Ronglein went 2 for 4. Lily Halberg had a homerun. Ava-Anne Sheahan went 2 for 4. Abby Kimball went 3 for 4 with a home run and Heidi Leitz went 2 for 4 with a two-run home run.
