PASCO — The NWAC All Northern Conference team has been announced and the both Peninsula Pirate basketball teams were well represented.

For the women Ituau Tuisaula was voted the Conference MVP. Last year the award went to Millie Long. Long was not for gotten however. Long was named to the first team all-conference and Long was named the Defensive Player of the year.

Pirate Head Coach and former Roughrider Allison Crumb was named the coach of the year. Pirate freshman Chasity Selden was named to the 2nd team All-conference which is very impressive due to the fact Selden had to sit out until January because of transfer rules when she transferred from the University of New México. Making the all-conference defensive team is Pirate Sophomore Tati Kamae.

For the men, Roosevelt Williams Jr took the highly decorated MVP award. The men’s NWAC conference was loaded with talented players. Head Coach Donald Rollman was voted the coach of the year. Pirate sophomore Malik Jackson was voted to the first all-conference team. Jackson was also named to the all-defensive team and Esa Onakpoma was named the defensive player of the year.
