
PASCO — The 2023 NWAC college basketball tournament starts tomorrow at Columbia Basin College in Pasco.
The Peninsula Pirate women are the #1 seed from the Northern Conference, and they will play the #4 seed from the Southern Conference Lin-Benton. That game will tip off Thursday at noon. The winner of that game will play Friday at 2 pm against the winner of the Lower Columbia-Walla Walla game.
The Pirate men will tip off on Saturday at Noon against the East #4 seed Columbia Basin. Columbia Basin will have the advantage of playing on their home floor. The winner will play at 2 pm on Sunday against the winner of the Green River-S.W. Oregon game.
All of the Pirate games will be broadcast on Newsradio KONP.
The Pirate Athletic Department is inviting Pirate fans to show up at the gym at 12:30 today for a special send off to send both teams off to Pasco.

Two Pirate Athletes have signed letters of intent to play at the next level. Kennzie Banner is headed to Ellensburg to play soccer at Central Washington University. Former Roughrider Millie Long will play both soccer and basketball at Cal Poly Humboldt, a NCAA D2 school in Arcata, California.

The accolades continue to fall on Sequim Wolves point guard Hannah Bates. Bates was selected to play in the WIAA Coaches Association All-State basketball game March 18th at Kings High School in Seattle.
