PORT ANGELES — With the college basketball season underway, an update on some former Roughriders. Eve Burke, a freshman at Linfield College, is having a good start. Burke is averaging 12 minutes a game for a Linfield team that is 2-3 on the season. Burke is averaging five points per game and 3 rebounds per game. Burke is shooting a hot 52% from the floor. Linfield will play at NW West College in Kirkland on December 28th. PLU on February 4th and at UPS on February 10th in games near her hometown.
Former Roughrider Wyatt Dunning, a freshman at defending NWAC-champion Yakima Community College, is off to a solid start. Wyatt is averaging 19 minutes per game, averaging six points per game and five rebounds per game while shooting 43% from the floor. Yakima is 1-2 on the season.

In the Peninsula basketball league, in the final regular season game Straight Floors beat Adam’s Tree Service 100-34. Jayson Brocklesby hit for 24 points and Chad Copeland hit for 20. The playoffs get underway tonight. 7 Cedars takes on Olympic Health at 7:30 pm and Black Diamond Electric takes on Big Barn Ballers at 8:30 pm. Monday night, Arrow Marine takes on Bayview Flooring and Strait Floors takes on Adam’s Tree Service.
