KING COUNTY – We learned from the Washington State Patrol Tuesday that they were asked by the Bellevue Police Department to investigate a collision involving one of their motorcycle officers.

Troopers and detectives responded to the accident scene on Bellevue Way Monday morning. They say 34-year-old Motorcycle Officer Jordan Jackson was traveling northbound on Bellevue Way and a vehicle entered Bellevue Way from a parking lot on the east side of the road which the motorcycle officer struck.

The investigation so far has shown that there was no impairment involved and also no indication that speed was a factor. The officer was transported to Harborview Medical Center and sadly did not survive his injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone that may have witnessed this collision to contact the Washington State Patrol.

Before becoming a police officer in March 2018, Jackson was an EMT, volunteer firefighter, and a member of the King County Sheriff’s Officer Search and Rescue Volunteer K-9 Unit.

Officer Jackson grew up in Spokane and graduated from Issaquah High School and Central Washington University. He leaves behind his wife and two young children.
