PORT ANGELES — The NWAC Northern Division soccer team have been announced and Pirate Head Coach Jack Hughes is the coach of the year. Pirates making the Northern Division All Star team are Pau Vivas Ayala, Fernando Taveras, Shu Kato, Tim Deser and Dylan Pauw. On the Honorable Mention team were Inchun Hun. Alfonso Santos de Cruz and Yusaku Shimakuna.

Two former Sequim Wolves soccer players are playing with their NCAA college teams in the National Tournaments. Aidan Henninger is a freshman at NCAA D3 Franciscan College in Steubenville, Ohio. His sister Claire Henninger is a graduate student at NCAA D2 Western Washington in Bellingham. Claire was named a 2nd team All-GNAC selection as the starting goalie for the Vikings. The Vikings are the #2 seed in the NCAA D3 tournament and will play Saturday at 3 pm against either Point Loma or Sonoma State.
Aidan, as a freshman, played in 14 games, started in 2 games and scored a goal. Franciscan U. will play Messiah U. In the first round of the NCAA D3 tournament this Saturday.

In the finals of the Peninsula Soccer League Forks FC won the championship knocking off Windermere 3-2. Luis Perez had all 3 goals for Forks FC. Straight Slice was awarded 3rd place in a forfeit win over Salazar Painting. High Energy Metal beat The Bandidos 3-1 for 5th place and Pantry & Latch beat Pura Vida 2-0 for 7th place.

There was one game in the Peninsula Basketball League, Bayview Flooring beat Arrow Marine 59-42. John Textor scored 17 and Cody Holden had 12 points for Bayview and Kyler Rollness had 17 for Arrow Marine.
