SEATTLE (AP) — A Seattle police officer shot a man who police say was firing a rifle in an apartment complex. The Seattle Police Department says police received reports of shots fired in the Squire Park neighborhood just after 4:00 a.m. According to police, officers arrived and heard gunshots and people screaming. When they entered the apartment complex, they contacted the man, who had a rifle. Police say one officer fired at the man, striking him and afterward the man entered an apartment and refused to come out. Police say the wounded man eventually surrendered and was taken then to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Officers found no shooting victims but identified several apartment units with ballistic damage.
