SEQUIM — The Sequim Wolves and Port Angeles Roughrider fast pitch teams both lost on their home fields last night. Sequim led 6-3 after 5 innings but the North Kitsap Vikings scored 3 runs in the 6th and 2 runs in the 7th for the 8-6 Viking win. Hannah Bates went 4 for 4 with a triple and scored 2 runs. Addie Smith went 2 for 4 with a double and scored 2 runs. The Wolves travel to North Mason Thursday with the first pitch at 4:15 pm.

Port Angeles lost to undefeated Olympic who is 6-0, 8-5. The loss drops the Roughriders to 6-1 on the season.  Natalie Robinson went 3 of 4 with a home run and scored 2 runs for the Riders. PA will host Bainbridge Thursday with the first pitch at 4:45 pm.

In baseball, Port Angeles beat North Kitsap 2-1. All nine starters in the Roughrider lineup got at least one hit. Colton Romero and Elijah Flodstrom both went 2 for 3. Elijah Flodstrom threw 4 innings giving up 5 hits and 1 run. Kole Acker in relief shut the door pitching 3 innings, giving up just 1 hit. The Roughriders 2-4 on the season host Kingston tonight at 4:15 pm.

In boys’ soccer, the Port Angeles Roughriders were shut out 6-0 at North Kitsap. Coach Chis Saari says North Kitsap out skilled and out possessed PA throughout the game. The Riders had some moments where they moved the ball well and created a few good chances but were unable to score. The Roughriders 3-4 on the season will host Bainbridge Thursday at 6:45 pm.

In girls’ tennis, Port Angeles will host Sequim at 4 pm today.
