PORT ANGELES – Former Port Angeles mayor and long-time city councilmember Gary Braun has died.

Braun passed away December 9^th of natural causes in his Port Angeles home. He was 86.

Braun retired as a firefighter in Port Angeles and then worked as a customs agent.

He served a total of 14 years on the city council in two stints, from 1992-1999 and then again from 2002-2009.

He served as mayor in 1998, 1999 and 2009.

A memorial service is planned, but a date has not been announced yet.
