PORT ANGELES – Dash Air Shuttle, the new airline setting up shop at Fairchild Airport in Port Angeles, released a statement Wednesday saying that while they’d hoped to begin service to SeaTac airport before the end of this year, several contributing factors have led to unexpected delays.
Company President Clint Ostler said they’ve taken delivery of three Cessna 402c aircraft, each capable of carrying nine passengers, which are undergoing a rigorous inspection process prior to being put into service.
Ostler adds that Dash is in the process of establishing a base for aircraft maintenance and logistics support, but it’s taking longer than expected due to the challenging pandemic environment.
Dash Air will likely get business going by early spring, and then next summer the plan is to expand the schedule with up to six daily round-trip flights.
The news release ends by saying that within five years, Dash Air is intending to transition to all electric propulsion, making them a zero-emission airline and keeping ticket prices down.
