EVERETT, Wash. (KONP) — Search and rescue crews have located a body believed to be a kayaker who went missing after making a distress call near Jetty Island in Everett yesterday.
The remains were spotted and recovered by a helicopter crew from Naval Station Whidbey Island, who joined in the search this morning.
Authorities said a kayaker in distress called 911 around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to report high winds and rough seas. A kayak was located without an occupant later that afternoon.
Tuesday brought severe weather into western Washington.
The Snohomish County medical examiner had not yet confirmed the identity of the remains as of this writing.
