From the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office:

On August 13, 2021, just after 4:00 p.m., an unidentified male called
Walmart Port Angeles located at 3411 E. Kolonels Way, and claimed to
have placed several bombs inside the store that he was able to remotely
detonate.

Deputies from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene
and Walmart was immediately evacuated. A cursory search by Deputies
was conducted and no suspicious or unusual devices were located. The
Washington State Patrol (WSP) Bomb Squad was summoned and they
responded to the scene along with four explosive material detection K-9s.

Once the WSP Bomb Squad arrived, the perimeter and interior of the
building was inspected with the use of the explosive detection K-9 dogs. No
explosive devices or explosive materials were located. The store was turned
over to Walmart management at about 10:00 p.m.

This is an active case investigation and anyone with information regarding
the bomb threat is urged to call the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
