PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles City Council has gone on record supporting the Olympic Discovery Trail.
This week, the council voted unanimously for a resolution that states the city supports maintenance and upkeep of a waterfront section of the trail.
The move comes after the council had considered the trail might use an alternate, upland route to skirt a slide-prone area of the trail between Ennis and Morse Creeks.
The resolution doesn’t specify monetary commitments or which department would oversee the trail section.
The city previously pledged more than half a million dollars towards repairs of the trail over the next five years.
