PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles High School has a new Principal.

District officials announced Friday that Tanner Zahrt, who most recently served as Assistant Principal at ACE (Academy for Career Education) High School in Reno, Nevada, will take the helm on July 1.

The news comes as Principal Jeff Clark wraps up his final year before entering retirement. Clark was with the District for 17 years.

Zahrt earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nevada, and adds a master’s degree from Western Governors University in Educational Leadership.

In Reno, Zahrt served as Assistant Principal at ACE High school, Dean of Students for Washoe County School District, ELA Teacher and Administrative Intern at Billinghurst Middle School. In Sparks, Nevada, Zahrt was an English Teacher and Debate Coach at Spanish Springs High School.
