homeless-drive

The Homeless Project group (Gabby Montana, Lilly Sanders, Liberty Lauer, Kathryn Jones, Jaeda Elofson, Caedence Elofson, Josephine Edgington and Mylee Soiseth), part of the Leadership Class at Port Angeles High School, would like to thank the staff at PAHS and PASD, as well as the community, for the success of their drive.

Students asked for donations at four locations; Swains, PAHS Foyer, Lincoln Center and Steve Methner Insurance.  All collection bins were full, and some were emptied several times over the three week collection period that ended on November 18th.

While the students focus collecting rain ponchos, gloves and hats – they received many other welcomed donations.  The group is pleased to report the donations:

Thank you to everyone that contributed and assisted the students, including Tim Branham and Dan Helpenstell for picking up the donations at the drop off locations. There are so many good things we are doing for our students through our clubs and classes, even though we are in a pandemic!!!!

Items are being distributed to PAPD, The Clothing Closet, TAFY and Peninsula Behavioral Health.

Our Interact Club is continuing the project and will continue to work with our community to focus on travel size hygiene items and nutritional snack bars.  More info to come soon.
