SEQUIM— Parts of city parks in Sequim will reopen on Tuesday.

City officials say the decision to reopen some areas keeps with Governor Jay Inslee’s recent plan to lift restrictions on some outdoor recreation activities.

Carrie Blake Park, including the Water Reuse Demonstration Area, and Pioneer Memorial Park will open. The dog park, skate park, fishing pond and community gardens will also reopen. Social distancing rules will be in place at all parks.

Kirner Park and Dr. Standard Park will remain closed until further order.

No public gatherings may occur at the reopened parks including events and team sports.

The playground areas, horseshoe, bocce ball, and shuffleboard at Carrie Blake Park will remain closed. No City facilities are available for rent.

The city is also opening some of its public restrooms. The restrooms at Carrie Blake Park near the pickleball courts, the downtown restrooms on Sequim Avenue and the Clallam Transit Center restrooms will be opened. However, the restrooms in the Water Reuse Area will remain closed until further notice.
