Woman found in car after crash had been strangled

SEATTLE (AP) — A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 36-year-old Seattle woman whose body was found in a car that was involved in a slow-speed collision with a train in Kent.

Kent police say detectives quickly realized her injuries weren’t from the crash. Her 37-year-old ex-boyfriend was booked into jail on investigation of homicide.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Destinie Gates-Jackson and determined she died from asphyxia due to strangulation at about 2 a.m. on April 22.
