PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles Food Bank has decided to go to an alternative method of food distribution to protect the health of the community, their volunteers and staff.

Until further notice, they be serving food via drive-up and walk-up services only.

Their distribution hours will stay the same, but they now ask that you make an appointment online if you can by clicking the link in this story on our website (here). The purpose of the appointments is to space people out over the day rather than have everyone show up at once at 9:00 am.

To make it work, they’re going to close the parking lot to cars, set up a line for walkup customers, and position parking lot attendants to guide vehicles through the process of the drive-thru.

Volunteers will line you up, and place pre-packed food box/bags into your car for you and off you go.

They’re also working on a plan for separate pick up locations and possible delivery.
