AGNEW – Fire destroyed a garage east of Port Angeles last night.

But crews were able to save the attached home.

Fire District Three was called about 8 pm to the fire in the 3000 Block of Old Olympic Highwa. Fire District 3 officials say units from their Carlsborg station arrived about eight minutes after the 911 call came in. The first arriving crews found a fully involved garage fire which was spreading into the attic of the attached home.

Additional manpower was called and back up brought into the district’s other stations.

Ultimately the home was spared major damage due to the fast fire attack put on by the first arriving crew. The family opted to stay in the home last night.
