PORT ANGELES – Newsradio KONP listeners helped raise more than $41,000 dollars for the Port Angeles Foodbank.

During a daylong, on-air effort, pledges of $41,700 were made yesterday. Those donations were buoyed by large corporate donations from the MV Coho employees and company of more than $6000. Hermann Brothers Trucking donated $5000 and Coastal Farm and Ranch added another $2000. But the majority of the donations were funded on individual pledges from KONP listeners ranging from a few dollars to $1000.

This was the 39th annual Food-a-thon where KONP shares its airwaves with members of the Port Angeles Lions Club to raise a significant portion of the PA Food Bank’s budget for the year.
