PORT ANGELES – Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Port Angeles area man Monday on suspicion of making death threats to several people.
38-year-old Jesse Adams Gray was picked up on a charge of felony harassment for allegedly threatening, via email, to kill a former neighbor living in Forks and others he had on a “list”.
Gray was an occasional substitute teacher for the Port Angeles School District. District spokesperson Jennifer Sperline says he has now been removed from that list.
“So he is suspended from substitute teaching until further notice and that is based on the, you know, pending charges he has in felony court. Once that is done then there’ll be a review of the findings of that case and then, you know, a decision will be made thereafter.”
Family members in North Carolina separately reported to Clallam deputies and to the FBI that they too had heard from Gray that he was going to harm people in Clallam County.
Deputies investigated the threats and established probable cause for the Gray’s arrest. A search warrant was obtained and executed by deputies at Gray’s residence. Firearms and other items of evidence were removed from the home.
Gray appeared in court Tuesday and charged with Harassment with Threats to Kill, a class C felony. He posted bond, which was set at $20,000, Tuesday night and is scheduled to be arraigned on November 8.
