MOSES LAKE, Wash. – Deputies are still searching for a missing 28-year-old Moses Lake woman who has not been seen since Oct. 18.
Rachel Lakoduk was reportedly hiking the Hidden Lake Trailhead near Marblemount, where she was supposed to stay the night at a lookout cabin, according to the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.
When Lakoduk did not return the next day, her family became concerned and contacted the National Park Service.
Lakoduk’s vehicle was found at the trailhead, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Search crews went out over the weekend but were forced to turn back due to heavy snow and avalanche danger.
On Tuesday, with a break in the weather, search crews were finally able to reach the cabin, but there was no sign of Lakoduk.
Authorities are not giving up hope, adding a Navy helicopter and more search teams will be on the trail Wednesday looking for any sign of life.
