DES MOINES, Wash. (AP) — A 67-year-old scuba diver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after an incident off Redondo Beach in Des Moines, Washington.
KOMO-TV reports that South King Fire says a man and woman were diving Monday morning when the man began experiencing a problem at 90 feet down.
The pair started to ascend and were able to get to the surface.
A Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife boat was in the area and the crew pulled the injured diver onto the boat, South King Fire said.
Officials performed CPR on the man at the scene and were able to bring back his pulse.
However, South King Fire says after he was taken to Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, the man went into cardiac arrest again.
