JEFFERSON COUNTY – In Port Hadlock yesterday, a Deputy was patrolling a high crime area when he spotted a motorcycle being ridden by a suspect wanted on an arrest warrant for a recent Port Townsend burglary. When Deputy Schreier attempted to stop the suspect, a short vehicle pursuit ensued.
The suspect accelerated and led the deputy down Irondale Road. While on Irondale Road, the suspect’s girlfriend, driving a car, passed the deputy and attempted to block him from stopping the motorcycle.
Deputies were eventually able to safely stop the pair. Once both parties were arrested, deputies noted an unrestrained infant in the back of the girlfriend’s car.
Both adults were transported to the Jefferson County jail while the infant was taken for protective custody.
