Port Ludlow – For the second time in two days, a local resident has been seriously hurt in a crash on Highway 104.
Yesterday afternoon 79-year-old Vladimir Naftulyev was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after his vehicle was sandwiched in a three-vehicle rear-end crash.
It happened about 3:20 pm on Highway 104 at Garten Road.
State Patrol Troopers says Naftulyev has stopped his SUV behind another car that was stopped to make a left turn off the highway. That’s when a third car crashed into the SUV. That sent it into the rear of the originally stopped car.
The drivers of the other two cars were not injured.
The crash came just a few miles from a head-on crash Monday that sent residents from Port Angeles and Sequim to the hospital. One of them was airlifted in serious condition.
