STANWOOD, Wash. – Gas thieves are repeatedly targeting the YMCA of Snohomish County.

KIRO News reports On Easter Sunday, thieves were caught on camera stealing gasoline from one of the YMCA’s vans by drilling a hole in the bottom of the tank, instead of syphoning the gas.

They say drilling the tank has caused thousands of dollars in damage.

Surveillance videos show a male and a female suspect underneath the car at separate times. It appears they drained the gasoline into a small container and sloppily pour it into a plastic bucket.

The thieves likely drilled a hole because they could no longer syphon the gasoline. After being hit twice before, YMCA staff put a locking mechanism on the gas cap.

Stanwood Police said they have identified the suspects but have not arrested them as of Wednesday evening.
