PORT TOWNSEND – The lineup for what could be the Peninsula’s biggest event this summer has just been announced.
It’s called THING, and it’s coming to Fort Warden in Port Townsend the weekend of August 24 and 25. THING is created by the same folks who produced the hugely popular Sasquatch Festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre from 2002-18, an event that appears to have seen its final days.
Billed as a music and arts festival, THING will feature an eclectic list of headliners such as The Violent Femmes and De La Soul, as well as a performance by a mentalist, a reading of the script from Officer and a Gentleman, which was filmed in Port Townsend in the early 80’s, and several live podcasts including Too Beautiful To Live with Luke Burbank and Bunny Ears with Macaulay Culkin.
Camping spots can be reserved. Food vendors have yet to be announced.
Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9:00am starting at $189.50 for a two-day pass, and kids 13 and under get in free.
