PORT ANGELES – Peninsula College will be temporarily suspending Community Education classes beginning this summer for budgetary reasons, but there’s still time to enroll for the Spring Quarter. Community Education classes include subjects like art, photography and fishing.
College President Luke Robins says it’s time to step back and see if they can come up with a way to make those programs pay for themselves.
School officials have also cut a few staff positions.
Robins says the business of running a Community College is like any other, with ups and downs that follow the economy.
