PORT ANGELES – A Port Angeles man was jailed on burglary and assault charges after police say he kicked in a woman’s door yesterday.

Just before four yesterday afternoon, cops were called to the 200 block of west 3rd Street. That’s where a woman called 9-1-1 reporting a man had kicked in the door. The dispatcher could hear a disturbance in the background.

Police arrived and found 37-year-old Timothy Owens in a physical tussle with another man. Police threated to use a TASER on Owens if he didn’t disengage. Owens complied. Officers noticed he was also carrying a handgun.

The woman who called 9-1-1 said Owens had knocked at the door, but then kicked in the door. Owens then allegedly pointed the handgun at her. She armed herself with a knife and a male resident arrived on scene. Owens then confronted him, and a physical altercation took place.

Owens was booked into the Clallam County Jail on first degree burglary, first degree assault and other charges.
